This position will perform extensive skip tracing, and will work both pre and post charge-off accounts. The position will assist in processing and monitoring collection activities on member loans and share accounts, locating collateral, reviewing and recommending legal assignments, assigning charge offs to agencies, reviewing accounts prior to placing with attorney for litigation, working bankrupt accounts, locating assets, filing police reports as needed on fraudulent accounts, identifying and recommending accounts for charge off, processing payments and maintaining knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, SCRA and bankruptcy laws.



  • Extensively work all pre- and post- charge off accounts that may be queued or assigned for review.
  • Locate and coordinate the recovery of our collateral, deficiencies, and post charge-off accounts on all consumer and real estate products.
  • Work with legal counsel to obtain judgments, force liens, wage garnishments, and on occasion represent us in court.
  • Assist with reviewing invoices including regarding legal, administrative, and recovery vendors.
  • Support credit reporting functions that align with the recovery of charged off debt.
  • Assist with managing relationships with collection agencies where loans have been assigned.
  • Extensive skip tracing and investigation to validate assets for recovery.
  • Perform collections duties as requested up to but not limited to making calls, assigning vehicles, posting delinquent payments, collecting on delinquent accounts.
  • File police reports on accounts identified as being fraudulent.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the collections department.



  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years' collection, collateral recovery and skip tracing experience required. 
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements as it pertains to the job function.
  • Good research skills and excellent knowledge of collection and bankruptcy laws.
  • Act as a resource staff person with a supportive and cooperative attitude. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and in teams. 
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems. 
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Occasional travel and the ability to adapt to flexible work hours to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects. Weekend work may be required. 
  • Must display strong ethics.



High school education or equivalent required with Associate degree preferred.
