Under the direction of the Director of Loan Servicing and Investor Relations, supervise all aspects of consumer and real estate loan servicing.  Responsible for maintaining oversight of all department loan maintenance and transaction activities. Oversee assigned associates to accomplish goals and job objectives. Manage file retention process and maintain real estate and consumer loan files.



  • Oversee the efficient, professional and cost effective servicing, including compliance with relevant quality control aspects, of real estate and consumer loans serviced by or through XFCU Mortgage Loan Servicing Unit.  Comply with all relevant Federal, State, or Local laws and regulations, as well as XFCU and investor requirements.  Follow up as needed to ensure all documentation and information required is received.
  • Assist with researching and responding to Investor requests.
  • Interface with other departments as needed; as well as third party vendors/service providers with respect to the real estate and consumer loan portfolio and reports.
  • Assure the accurate and timely receipt and processing of servicing related data documents and products (conversions, modifications, corrections, etc.), while assuring their compliance with applicable State, Federal, Local laws/regulations and XFCU and investor requirements.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of all real estate and consumer loan programs and their servicing standards/requirements.
  • Ensure all servicing quality standards are met and maintained on each assigned real estate and/or consumer loan file.
  • Work with the Mortgage Department, Loan Servicing Department and XFCU Internal Auditor to facilitate smooth, timely quality control and regulatory audits of unit files.
  • Oversee the efficient processing ofnationwide real estate demands for all credit union real estate payoffs; complying with the operating unit goals.
  • Manage the daily processing of all XFCU closed real estate loans, including the timely reconveyance/satisfaction of lien releases to meet relevant State, Federal and Local laws/regulations, as well as XFCU internal requirements.
  • Manage the weekly monitoring of all critical loan transactions and file maintenance activity, including tracking 1st loan payment defaults etc.
  • Oversee the processing of rate changes for variable rate loans and notification to members of new rates, in compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local laws/regulations, as well as XFCU internal requirements.
  • Report status and results of the Servicing Units' activities, as directed, to the Director of Loan Servicing and Investor Relations.
  • Oversee all aspects of collateral titling.  This includes obtaining and perfecting all collateralized liens, working with originators to create and maintain proper procedures as well as the timely and efficient release of liens.
  • Effectively monitor insurance expiration and force-placement in conjunction with insurance vendor.
  • Track, pay, and recover delinquent property taxes and premiums for force-placed property insurance on real estate secured loans.
  • Process and report Skip-A-Pay feature.
  • Review and approve payment of vendor invoices related to Loan Servicing.
  • Maintain, safeguard, and track Consumer and Mortgage Loan Document Files.
  • Accurately process loan charge offs and credit bureau reporting.
  • Manage assigned staff.  Comply with all HR requirements as well as appropriate state/federal regulations.
  • Ensure assigned staff is properly trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of their job requirements.
  • Cross train as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all procedures are thorough and up-to-date.
  • Additional responsibilities as they are assigned.



  • Minimum of 5 years of lending or loan servicing experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in credit union management and/or related experience.
  • Technical knowledge in the area of mortgage and consumer loan servicing.
  • Must also have a thorough knowledge of credit union regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and document findings related to new products, processes, and services, including the ability to extrapolate Member acceptance, impact on other departments, and financial implications.
  • Ability to recognize and evaluate risks and potential losses in credit union processes and the structure of credit union assets.
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage projects from inception thorough post implementation review.



Bachelors degree preferred.
